Juan José Ibarretxe Markuartu (born 15 March 1957) is a Spanish politician that advocated Basque nationalism.
A leading member of the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV), he was lehendakari (President) of Spain's Basque Autonomous Community from 2 January 1999 to 7 May 2009.
