- Currie is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break.
- He was born in Manchester. Currie made his debut for Cheshire in the 1999 Minor Counties Championship against Berkshire.
- He played Minor counties cricket for Cheshire from 1999 to 2005, including 18 Minor Counties Championship matches.
