About David Alexander (director)

  • David Alexander (December 23, 1914 – March 6, 1983) was an American television director.
  • He directed several episodes of the CBS Television series The Best of Broadway (1954–1955), the 1966 episode of F Troop entitled "Yellow Bird", and two episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series.
  • He also directed the Broadway revival of Pal Joey (musical).
  • This production had the longest run of any revival of a musical in the history of the Broadway theatre at the time. David's son, Dale Alexander, was a key grip for shows such as The Office, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Party of Five.
