Wakee ibn al-Jarrah al-Kufi (746-812) was a hadith scholar of 8th-century.
He was considered as Chief muhaddith of his time.
It is reported that Abbasid Caliph Harun al-Rashid offered him the post of Chief Justice, but he refused because of fear of dependence on power and his asceticism.
