About Viren Dangwal
- Viren Dangwal (5 August 1947 - 28 September 2015) was a renowned Hindi poet and recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award 2004 in Hindi language for his book 'Dushchakra Mein Srista' (???????? ??? ??????) (Poetry).
- He was a journalist and an academician.
- He was associated with the editorial board of the Hindi newspaper Amar Ujala group and was a professor of Hindi at Bariely College from 1974-2010.Viren Danwal's famous write up was 'Kavi Ne kaha' besides his collection ‘ Dushchakra me Shrista’ that earned him the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2004 and the Shamsher Samman in 2002.
- In 1992 he received the Raghuveer Sahay Smriti Award for his poem 'Duniya'.
- In 1993 he received the Srikant Verma Smriti Award. Dangwal was born in Kirti Nagar, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
