About Vasilije Kačavenda

  • Vasilije Kacavenda (born 19 December 1938) is a retired Serbian Orthodox bishop from Bosnia who served as the head of the Eparchy of Zvornik and Tuzla until his dismissal due to a torrent of sex with a young man abuse claims.
  • During the Bosnian War of the early 1990s, he was a government minister of the self declared Bosnian Serb entity Republika Srpska and endorsed violence against Bosniak civilians.
  • Kacavenda also had close ties with many Serbian nationalists, including Ratko Mladic, and is a nationalist himself.
  • He has lived in Bijeljina since 1992.
