  • Michael James Grier (born January 5, 1975) is an American retired professional ice hockey winger who played for four teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) - the Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals, San Jose Sharks, and Buffalo Sabres.
  • Primarily a checking forward, he played 1,060 NHL games over 14 NHL seasons.
  • Grier was the first African-American player in the history of the NHL to be exclusively trained in the country.
