28 in the WTA doubles rankings. Partnering with Miyu Kato, she reached the semifinals of the 2017 Australian Open.
She also played the first singles Grand Slam tournament at the 2017 Australian Open, losing in the first round to Carina Witthöft. Hozumi won her first WTA Tour doubles title in 2016, at the Katowice Open.
