Roland Zdenek Bulirsch (born November 10, 1932, Liberec) is a German mathematician specializing in numerical analysis.He earned his Ph.D.
in 1966 at the Technical University of Munich and joined the faculty there in 1973.He is the author (with Josef Stoer) of Introduction to Numerical Analysis, a standard reference for the theory of numerical methods, and has also authored numerous other books and articles.
