Virgil Hamlin Goode Jr.
(born October 17, 1946) is an American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1997 to 2009.
He was initially a Democrat, but became an independent in 2000 and switched to the Republican Party in 2002. He represented the 5th congressional district of Virginia.
He lost his seat in the 2008 election to Democrat Tom Perriello.
