  • Eugene Peter Ruehlmann (February 23, 1925 – June 8, 2013) was an American lawyer and politician. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ruehlmann served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
  • Ruehlmann then received his bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and his law degree from Harvard Law School.
  • He then practiced law.
  • In 1959, Ruehlmann was elected to the Cincinnati City Council and then served as Mayor of Cincinnati from 1967 to 1971.
  • During his tenure as mayor he oversaw the building of Riverfront Stadium and helped bring the Cincinnati Bengals to the city.
  • He also made significant efforts to reach out to African American communities in the wake of race riots in 1967.
  • He was a member of the Republican Party.
