- Lal is a founder of DreamActivist, an online advocacy network led by undocumented youth.
- Through the use of social media, Lal has been credited for organising an online network to stop the deportations of undocumented youth and they are well known as one of the pivotal figures and leaders of the DREAM Act movement.
