Ion Pârcalab (born 5 November 1941) is a retired Romanian footballer.
He was nicknamed "The Carpathian Arrow" by coach Helenio Herrera.
His stepbrother is Nicolae Dumitrescu who was also an International footballer.His last name is sometimes spelled Pîrcalab.
He had to change the spelling of his last name in 1953 (due to a Romanian language spelling reform) to Pîrcalab, but in 1993 the spelling was reverted to Pârcalab.
Which means the during his football career he had to use the spelling Pîrcalab (see Romanian special letters).
Pârcalab played for UTA Arad, Dinamo Bucuresti and Nîmes Olympique in France.
In 1965, he was awarded the title "Best Football Player" in Romania.
He won four titles in a row with Dinamo Bucure?ti.
He also participated at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with the Romanian national team.
