- A member of the country's governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is currently a Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
- He also currently serves as a Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC for the ward of Nee Soon Central.
