About Swaroopanand Saraswati
- Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati (born 2 September 1924) is an Indian religious leader and freedom fighter.
- He was jailed for participating in Quit India Movement, and served two prison sentences in 1942.
- In 1973, he became the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Badrinath; following a 1982 court case he filed claiming rights to the position and title.
- At this time he was appointed as the Shankaracharya (undisputed) of Dwarka peeth as well.
