Oommen Chandy is an Indian statesman and senior leader of the Indian National Congress party.
He served as the Chief Minister of Kerala for two terms, from 2004 to 2006 and again from 2011 to 2016.
He was also Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2011.
He has represented Puthuppally (State Assembly constituency) as MLA in the State Assembly since 1970.
On 6 June 2018 Congress President Rahul Gandhi appointed him as General Secretary of All India Congress Committee in charge of the crucial state of Andhra Pradesh.
