About Maxime Schwartz

  • Maxime Simon Schwartz (born 1 June 1940) is a French molecular biologist who has been research director at the CNRS, and professor and director general at the Pasteur Institute. In 1984 he won the Richard Lounsbery Award for his genetic and biochemical analysis of the maltose system of E.Coli, which paved the way for the solution of a series of fundamental problems in molecular biology.
