Mike Gipson (born June 25, 1966) is an American politician currently serving in the California State Assembly.
He is a Democrat representing the 64th Assembly District, which encompasses portions of the South Bay region of Los Angeles County.
Gipson is a member of the California Legislative Black Caucus.
Prior to being elected to the Assembly in 2014, he was a Carson City Councilmember.
Assemblymember Mike Gipson was a cosponsor of AB60 that allowed unauthorized aliens to get a California Department of Motor Vehicles issued driver license in 2015.
The bill was approved by Governor Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown Jr.
on June 17, 2015.
As of March 30, 2018: 1,001,000 unauthorized aliens have obtained the licenses, which are renewable after five years.
