About Matt Todd

  • Matthew Brendon Todd (born 24 March 1988) is a New Zealand rugby union footballer.
  • He plays at openside flanker for the All Blacks internationally, for the Panasonic Wild Knights in the Japanese Top League competition and is one of two vice-captains for the Crusaders in the Super Rugby competition. Todd began his professional rugby union career, through representing Canterbury in the ITM Cup, in 2009.
  • Todd last played for the club in 2017, opting to sign a one-year deal in Japan in 2018.
  • Todd became the first overseas-based player to represent the All Blacks in 2018.
