In 1980 he was a member of the Yugoslav handball team which finished sixth.
He played all six matches and scored seventeen goals. Four years later he was part of the Yugoslav team which won the gold medal.
He played four matches and scored one goals. In 1988 he won the bronze medal with the Yugoslav team.
He played all six matches and scored eighteen goals. His son Momir Rnic ia also a handballer, member of Serbia national handball team.
