About Tommy Hansen (footballer, born 1971)

  • Tommy Hansen (born 26 February 1971) is a retired Norwegian football defender. He hailed from Gjøvik and came through the youth ranks of the city's traditionally working-class club Gjøvik Sport, the squad also boasting Atle Maurud and Tom Henning Hovi.
  • In 1991 Hovi and Hansen trialled with Kongsvinger and were ultimately given the chance at HamKam.
  • After failing to break through at HamKam, Hansen took two seasons in his hometown's SK Gjøvik-Lyn.He then played for Jevnaker IF in 1995 and joined Sogndal Fotball in 1996, both on the second tier.
  • He helped win promotion for Sogndal and played 30 Eliteserien games over three seasons.
  • In 2000 and 2001 he played low-key with fourth-tier Fagerborg BK before becoming a coach. Hansen coached Stabæk youth teams before moving home to Gjøvik.
  • In 2007 he was hired as player developer of Raufoss IL as well as coach at Raufoss Upper Secondary School.
  • In 2009 he became director of sports in Gjøvik FF, serving as such and later as assistant coach until the end of 2011.
  • He also briefly featured on the pitch.
  • He later held lesser coaching position such as children's coached in Vind IL and assistant in Moelven IL.
