Carlos Adames (born 7 May 1994) is a Dominican professional boxer.
As of September 2019, Adames is ranked as the world’s tenth best active light middleweight by BoxRec and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. Adames represented the Dominican Republic on the World Series of Boxing between 2014 and 2015, accumulating a 4-2 record.Adames made his professional debut on July 2015, defeating Jeff Souffrant by unanimous decision after four rounds.
Adames won the vacant WBA Fedecaribe welterweight title in his seventh bout, beating Kelly Figueroa.
He won another vacant title in his next fight, defeating Patrick Lopez with a fourth round technical knockout for the WBA Fedelatin title.On July 2017, Adames defeated welterweight contender Carlos Molina by unanimous decision (110-98, 110-98, 109-99) after eleven rounds.
Adames put on a dominant performance, dropping Molina in round and outclassing him through the rest of the fight.
However, the fight ended a 10-fight knockout streak for Adames.On November, Adames was scheduled to face Frank Rojas in a welterweight bout as part of the 96th WBA Convention in Medellín, but the bout was called off after he failed to make weight.
