Hareesh (born 1975) is an Indian writer and translator of Malayalam literature and a screenwriter, best known for his short stories and his controversial debut novel, Meesha, which was the subject of a writ petition at the Supreme Court of India, seeking a ban on its publication.
Considered by many as one of the major writers in the language, Hareesh is a recipient of several honours including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Novel and the Geetha Hiranyan Endowment of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi.
