- He has written many books on his field, Folklore.
- His famous books like "Samagra kannada gadegalu" (as an editor), "Janapada dasa sampradaya" and "Jaanapada siri" made his name popular in the field of Folklore.
- He is currently working as an assistant professor of Folklore in Mysore University.

- Nanjaiah recently received the "Kombina honnayya award" for his excellent works in folklore, given by Honnusiri cultural trust, Chamarajnagar, in the year 2016.
