Siona Fernandes (born 1983) is a New Zealand amateur boxer, Olympian turned academic.

Indian-born, Siona Fernandes, was the first female representing New Zealand when boxing made its debut at the London 2012 Olympic games.
Her story began in Ribandar, Goa, India (previously a Portuguese colony), grounding her athleticism through more than a decade of intense physical training in the Indian classical dance style of ‘Bharatanatyam’.
Siona is currently pursuing her PhD in Australia, after a successful completion of her master's degree in Sport and Exercise Science in New Zealand.
She holds a Master of psychology (clinical) alongside a bachelors in performing arts achieved during her years in India.
