Sharon Michele White (born 21 April 1967) is a senior British civil servant.
She had a variety of roles in the British civil service, and was Second Permanent Secretary at HM Treasury from 2013 to 2015.
She has been the Chief Executive of the British media regulator Ofcom since March 2015.
She was the first black person, and the second woman, to become a Permanent Secretary at the Treasury.
On 6 June 2019, White was announced as the next, and sixth, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, succeeding Sir Charlie Mayfield.
Furthermore, outgoing JLP Chairman Sir Charlie Mayfield has confirmed White will be awarded an annual salary of £990,000 as Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, a significant increase on her currently salary, which is £341,700 per annum, according to data released by Ofcom.
