- He plays pitcher for the Chunichi Dragons. Ogasawara was the winning pitcher at the 2015 Summer Koshien tournament and was regarded as the second best high school pitching prospect in the 2015 draft class behind Gifu Commercial High School's Jumpei Takahashi.
- He holds the record for the worst start to a rookie season in the Japanese Central League going 0-5 in decisions before registering his first professional win.
