Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen (6 November 1919 – 2 July 2004 )was one of the most important Portuguese poets of the twentieth century.
She was the first Portuguese woman to receive the most important literary award of the Portuguese language, the Camões Prize, in 1999.
Her body has been in the National Pantheon since 2014 and has a library with her name in Loulé.
