Claudio Fabian Tapia (born September 22, 1967) is the current President of the Argentine Football Association (Spanish: Asociación del Fútbol Argentino) and Vice-President of "CEAMSE" (Spanish: Coordinación Ecológica Área Metropolitana Sociedad del Estado).Born in San Juan, Tapia moved to San Telmo, Buenos Aires as a child.
He played football, originally as a sweeper, then as a striker for Barracas Central.Tapia was voted President of the AFA on March 29, 2017, with a mandate until 2021.
The vote was passed with 40 votes in favor and 3 abstentions.
He replaced Luis Segura, who was forced to resign when fraud charges were brought against him in June 2016.
