Sir David Anthony Andrew Amess (born 26 March 1952) is a British Conservative Party politician.
He has been a Member of Parliament (MP) since 1983, first for Basildon, and since 1997 for Southend West.
A long-term and vocal Eurosceptic, he supported Brexit in the 2016 EU referendum and has since been a supporter of Leave Means Leave, a pro-Brexit campaign.
