Josep Carner i Puigoriol (Catalan pronunciation: [?u'z?p k??'ne]; born Barcelona 9 February 1884 - died Brussels 4 June 1970), was a Catalan poet, journalist, playwright and translator.
He was also known as the Prince of Catalan Poets. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature seven times.
