About Åke Andersson (ice hockey)

  • Åke Gustav "Plutten" Andersson (8 June 1918 – 11 May 1982) was a Swedish ice hockey and bandy player and association football manager.
  • He represented his country at the 1948 and 1952 Winter Olympics, finishing fourth in 1948 and winning a bronze medal in 1952.
  • He was the captain of the Swedish national team from 1945 until his retirement in 1954.Andersson managed Hammarby Fotboll in 1951.
  • He won six Swedish ice hockey titles with Hammarby IF (1936, 1937, 1942, 1943, 1945, 1951), starting as a forward and the leading goalscorer of the 1936 championships, and then changing to defenseman in the 1940s.
