- He is considered an icon of the Bolivian culture and identity.
- His work focuses mainly on Bolivian folklore, primarily focusing on the country's traditions, characters, customs and superstitions. Antonio Paredes Candia is buried in the courtyard of the museum named after him in the city of El Alto.
