He served as mayor of Saint-Vallier, Quebec from 1959 to 1962.
He was first elected to Parliament under the Social Credit banner in the district of Bellechasse in the 1962 federal election, but was defeated by Liberal candidate Herman Laverdière the next year.
He ran and lost as an independent in a 1964 by-election in the district of Dorchester.
