Sir Edward Jonathan Davey (born 25 December 1965) is a British politician serving as acting co-Leader of the Liberal Democrats since 2019.
He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kingston and Surbiton since 2017, and previously from 1997 to 2015.He served in the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition as Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change from 2012 to 2015, having previously served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, with responsibility for Employment Relations, Consumer and Postal Affairs from 2010 to 2012.
Davey ran against Jo Swinson in the 2019 Liberal Democrats leadership election and was later appointed Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats.
After Swinson lost her seat in the 2019 United Kingdom general election, Davey and Sal Brinton became acting co-Leaders.
