McDonald Mariga Wanyama (pronounced [m?k'd?n?ld m?'ri?g? w?'???m?] (listen); born 4 April 1987) is a retired Kenyan footballer who played as a defensive midfielder for the Kenya national team. Mariga made history as the first Kenyan footballer to play in the UEFA Champions League, for Internazionale on 16 March 2010.
In 2019 he joined politics to vie for Kibera parliamentary seat after the demise of Ken Okoth
