Jan Kríženecký (20 March 1868 Praha – 9 February 1921) was Czech cinema pioneer, director, cinematographer and photographer. He started his work as an architecture student (his brother Rudolf Kríženecký also studied architecture and became an architect).
In collaboration with actor Josef Šváb-Malostranský, he filmed three comic short films (Dostavenícko ve mlýnici, Plac a smích and Výstavní párkar a lepic plakátu) and more documentary short films.
They were first exhibited in June 1898 at the Architecture and Engineering Exhibition in Prague.
Kríženecký directed film up to 1910, later he documented Prague for the municipal authority as a photographer.
