Paul David McShane (born 6 January 1986) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Rochdale and the Republic of Ireland national team.
McShane won the 2003 FA Youth Cup with Manchester United.
He had loan stints with Brighton & Hove Albion and West Bromwich Albion before his subsequent transfers to Sunderland, Hull City and then Reading with two further loan spells inbetween the latter two.
He worked his way into the Republic of Ireland national team, making his debut in 2006.
He was then called in from the international wilderness to the Irish squad for UEFA Euro 2012.
