Marie Rita Marcelle Lagesse O.S.K (February 7, 1916 – March 8, 2011) was a Mauritian journalist and writer.
She was born in Quatre Bornes and married Gaston Lagesse at a young age.
After she was widowed, she went to the Salomon Islands where her father was administrator, living there from 1938 until 1942, when she returned to Mauritius.
In 1945, she published a collection of short stories Les contes du samedi under the pseudonym Rita Marc.
In 1981, she was given French citizenship by decree.
She was elevated to the rank of Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (O.S.K) in 2015.She died at the age of 95 following an extended illness.
