  • She was Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Rafael Correa, succeeding María Fernanda Espinosa on 7 December 2007.
  • She was succeeded by Fander Falconí on 12 December 2008. Salvador has been the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the Organization of American States since 27 July 2010.
  • She was named as president of the Governing Council of the Galapagos in June 2013.
  • She succeeded Governor of the Galapagos Islands, Jorge Torres Pallo, who held the position for a year and a half.
