About Matej Beňuš

  • Matej Benuš (born 2 November 1987) is a Slovak slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2002. He won a silver medal in the C1 event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
  • He also won ten medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with nine golds (C1 team: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019) and a bronze (C1: 2011).
  • He is a three-time overall world cup champion in the C1 class (2010, 2015, 2019).
  • At the European Championships he won a total of ten medals (7 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronzes).
