Michael Cheika (born 4 March 1967) is an Australian rugby union former rugby union coach and footballer.
He was the coach of the Australian national team.
He made an agreement that he would resign if Australia did not win the 2019 Rugby World Cup and will remain in the position until December the 31st Until his contract expires.
Cheika has Lebanese ancestry.
He is the only coach to have won the major rugby club competition in each hemisphere, winning the Heineken Cup with Leinster in 2009 and the Super Rugby competition with the New South Wales Waratahs in 2014.
During his career, Cheika was also head coach at Padova, Randwick and Stade Français.
