His notable songs include "Sob Kota Janala Khule Dao Na", "O amar Aat Koti Phul" and "Ekti Bangladesh Tumi Jagroto Janotar".
He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyrics for the film Padma Meghna Jamuna (1991).
