Theodore "Ted" Judd Serios (November 27, 1918 – December 30, 2006) was a Chicago bellhop known for his production of "thoughtographs" on Polaroid film.
He claimed these were produced using psychic powers.
Serios' psychic claims were bolstered by the endorsement of a Denver-based psychiatrist, Jule Eisenbud (1908–1999), who published a book named The World of Ted Serios: "Thoughtographic" Studies of an Extraordinary Mind (1967) arguing that Serios' purported psychic abilities were genuine.
However, professional photographers and skeptics have argued that Serios and his photographs were fraudulent.
Photographs of Ted Serios featured in the article "A Man Who Thinks Pictures". LIFE Magazine. 22 Sep 1967. (No copyright notice is found on the photographs). They have been re-printed in many books on the paranormal without copyright notice.
Original copies from the Jule Eisenbud collection on Ted Serios were presented at Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery in 2011. License: PD US no notice
