Hamish Kyle Bennett (born 22 February 1987) is a New Zealand international cricketer who has played Test and One Day International (ODI) cricket.
He also plays for Wellington in the New Zealand domestic competitions.
Earlier in his career he represented New Zealand in the 2006 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka.
He is one of the few bowlers in New Zealand cricket who can be considered a genuine out-and-out quick bowler.
His fastest televised delivery was clocked at 148km/hr during the 2014 Indian cricket tour of New Zealand, but it is widely recognised that he is capable of bowling over the 150km/hr mark.
He is a formidable opponent for even the most world class batsmen.
Durning the third ODI of the India series, he dismissed Virat Kohli following 16 consecutive dot ball deliveries.
He currently opens the bowling for Wellington with Ollie Newton.
The pair form the most formidable opening bowling attack in New Zealand First class cricket.
Newton is capable of bowling in the mid 140's, but paired with Bennett he justifiably pushes into the wind.
In the 2017/18 Plunket Shield season, batting against the Wellington attack, opposition provinces failed to score more than 250 runs in fourteen separate innings.
Statistically these results represent one of the most successful bowling campaigns since the competitions establishment.
