  • Gus Gerard (born July 27, 1953) is a retired American professional basketball player who played for the Carolina Cougars and Spirits of St.
  • Louis of the American Basketball Association and the Denver Nuggets, Buffalo Braves, Detroit Pistons, Kansas City Kings and San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association. Gerard played college basketball at the University of Virginia.
  • He was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 3rd round (14th pick, 50th overall) of the 1975 NBA draft.Gerard was on the 1974–75 ABA All-Rookie First Team and made the 1976 ABA All Star Team.
  • He played in all 84 games of his rookie season.Gerard's best NBA season came in 1976–77 when he averaged 10 points a game for the Denver Nuggets.
