Tony Tan Keng Yam (born February 7, 1940) is a Singaporean politician who was the seventh President of Singapore holding office from 2011 to 2017 after winning the 2011 Singaporean presidential election with 35.20% of the votes, winning by a narrow 0.34% margin over Tan Cheng Bock.
Tan was sworn in as president on 1 September 2011 and held office until 31 August 2017.
He is the only living former president of Singapore.
