- Vénera Kastrati is an albanian contemporary artist naturalized as italian.
- She was born in Tirana, Albania in 1975. She was the only artist to represent the Albanian Pavilion in a single artist exhibition at the 25th Alexandria Biennial for Mediterranean countries in Egypt.
- In 2009 participated at the 53rd Venice Biennale.
- In 2003 she was invited by the curator Harald Szeemann to participate in one of his memorable exhibitions Blut & Honig - Zukunft ist am Balkan at Sammlung Essl in Klosterneuberg Austria, and in the special event "The Balkans a Crossroad to the future" at Arte Fiera Bologna 2004.
- In 2016 she had a solo exhibition at the Kosova National Art Gallery.
- Over the past years, in her work the artist explored the relationship between image and memory.
- Kastrati's work is developed through different media, blurring the boundaries among photography, video, sound, drawing, installation, objects and very often takes inspiration from the technique of the shadow theatre. Her work was included in a charity auction at the Museo Marino Marini in Florence in 2011, and was shown at the twenty-fifth Alexandria Biennial in Egypt in 2009–2010.
