Previously Guo served as Minister of Public Security, State Councilor, Communist Party Chief of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and General Manager of Aluminum Corporation of China, a major state-owned enterprise.Guo is a native of Xingguo County, Jiangxi province.
