John Nicholas McLaughlin (September 21, 1918 – August 8, 2002) was a highly decorated officer of the United States Marine Corps with the rank of lieutenant general.
During his 33 years of active service, McLaughlin was a participant of wars in the Pacific, Korea and Vietnam.
He was taken prisoner during the Korean War and spent almost three years in Chinese captivity.
McLaughlin finished his career as commanding general of Fleet Marine Force, Pacific.
